AI and Your Content
Last updated: 9 October 2026. This page is part of our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Do you train AI on my content?
No. We do not use your scenes, photos, sketches, reference and style images, descriptions, prompts, 3D models or Sims to train, fine-tune or develop generative AI models, ours or anyone else's.
If that ever changes, we will tell you at least 30 days before, it will only apply to content you create after the change, and you will be able to opt out in your settings.
We ask every AI provider we use to commit not to train on what we send them, and we are confirming this in writing with each of them.
Who owns what I make?
You do. You own what you capture, upload and create, including the assets, styled elements and Sims our AI features generate for you, as far as the law allows. Our Terms of Service explain what each plan lets you do with your Sims commercially.
Is my content private?
Yes, by default. Nothing you make is visible to other users or the public unless you choose to share or publish it.
Our staff do not look through your content. A small number of authorised people can access specific content only when needed to answer your support request, review content reported to us or flagged by our safety systems, investigate abuse, or comply with the law.
What happens when I use an AI feature?
You give the app a description, reference image, photo, sketch or scene.
A language model turns your description and reference images into detailed instructions.
We send those instructions and the files needed to our AI infrastructure provider, which runs the image, 3D or video model. Your files are shared through private links that expire after 30 minutes.
For some models, the request goes on to the company that developed the model.
The result comes back to us and is stored with your scene. We ask our AI infrastructure provider to delete its copy of the result within an hour.
We do not send your name or email address to AI providers. Links to your files include a random account number, not your name. Whatever you type into a prompt is sent as you typed it, so please do not include personal details you do not want to share.
Which AI providers do you use?
We work with a small number of AI providers, chosen for quality, reliability and how they handle data:
AI infrastructure provider. What it does in Simulon: Runs our image, 3D and video models, including some it hosts itself; What it keeps: Request records for up to 30 days; results deleted within an hour; Where: United States
AI model providers. What it does in Simulon: Develop and run some of the models we use, for image editing, 3D models and video; What it keeps: Some keep limited safety records under their own terms; Where: United States, Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong
Language model provider. What it does in Simulon: Turns your descriptions and reference images into instructions for the generation models; What it keeps: Limited safety records for a short period; Where: United States
We require them to process your content only to provide Simulon to you. We change providers from time to time as better models become available. If you would like the names of the providers that currently process your content, email privacy@simulon.com and we will tell you.
Do you mark content as AI generated?
Yes. Laws such as the EU Artificial Intelligence Act require AI-generated or AI-altered images and video to be identifiable. Images made with our AI features carry:
content credentials (C2PA metadata) recording that AI was used; and
an invisible watermark.
Videos may also carry an invisible watermark. There is no visible watermark on your exports.
Please do not remove these. If you publish realistic AI content of real people, places or events, you may also need to tell your viewers it was made with AI.
What about photos of real people?
You can only use a photo of a real person, as a reference image or otherwise, to generate or animate content if you have their permission. We do not allow sexual imagery of real people, content that makes someone appear to say or do something they did not in a way that could mislead, or any sexual content involving minors. We do not use facial recognition or collect biometric information.
Do you use my content to improve Simulon?
Not today. If we ever want to, we will tell you first and you will be able to opt out, as described above.
How do I delete my content?
Delete any scene, asset or Sim in the app, or delete your whole account. It is removed from your account and its prompt is erased straight away, and its files are deleted from our systems within a reasonable period. If you delete your account, we delete everything we hold about you within minutes, except the limited records described in our Privacy Policy. Copies already held by an AI provider are deleted on that provider's schedule, described above.
What do you not allow others to do with Simulon?
No one may scrape Simulon or use our library, other users' content or our scene data to train AI models. Our Terms of Service explain this in section 9.
